Goud Inkoop Enschede

About us

Our story

From a tobacco and souvenir shop to a specialist trade in gold, silver, jewelry, coins and stamps — three generations of family, one shop on Heutinkstraat.

  1. 1958

Pierre den Riet opens a tobacco and souvenir shop

The start of the family business on the korte Haaksbergerstraat in Enschede.

  2. Early 1960s

Stamps and coins added to the range

Philately and numismatics become a permanent part of the shop.

  3. Second generation

Son Peter den Riet becomes a partner and an NVPH member

The stamp and coin trade is professionalised further. The business joins the N.V.P.H. (the Dutch Association of Stamp Dealers) and the I.F.S.D.A. (International Federation of Stamp Dealers’ Associations).

  4. 1978

    Move to the current address

The premises on Haaksbergerstraat are exchanged for a new shop on Heutinkstraat, and Olga, Peter’s wife, becomes a familiar face behind the counter. Coins slowly disappear from the range, but the combination of tobacco and philately — unique in the Netherlands — remains.

  5. 1990

    Third generation

After Pierre leaves the firm, Peter’s son Robert becomes a partner in 1990.

  6. 2005

Marcel den Riet becomes a partner

The coin trade gets fresh impetus under the third generation. Peter ends his work for the firm and his son Marcel becomes a partner. The coin trade is picked up again and a new website is built.

  7. 2009

Expansion into precious metals & jewelry

The shop starts buying and selling gold, silver and jewelry.

  8. Today

    Third generation, one family business

Trading in gold, silver, jewelry, coins and stamps, run with the same care as in 1958. Today the most trusted address in the region for buying, selling and pawning precious metals.
